Are you passionate about optimizing human performance and designing systems with the user at the center? We are seeking an experienced Human Factors Integration (HFI) Specialist to join a high-profile defence project. This is a unique opportunity to contribute to mission-critical system designs while working closely with a multi-disciplinary team.
The Role
As an HFI Specialist, you will report to the Lead HFI Specialist and play a key role in delivering user-centred design activities.
Your responsibilities will include:
- Supporting the integration of Human Factors into system design.
- Conducting in-depth analyses, such as task analysis, usability assessments, and cognitive workload evaluations.
- Collaborating with end-users and stakeholders through workshops, trials, and design activities.
- Assessing Commercial-Off-The-Shelf (COTS) equipment against system requirements and user needs.
- Reviewing and refining prototypes/mock-ups of hardware and software solutions.
- Producing detailed reports and contributing to deliverables for our customer.
Key Requirements
To excel in this role, you should bring:
- A degree or equivalent qualification in Human Factors, Ergonomics, or Psychology.
- At least 5 years of experience applying Human Factors methods in defence or safety-critical industries.
- A track record of working within multi-disciplinary teams on complex system integration projects.
- Preferably, membership or eligibility for Chartership with the Chartered Institute of Human Factors (CIEHF) or an equivalent body.
- Due to the nature of work, the successful candidate will have a valid UK SC CLearance prior to start.
