Mechanical Maintenance Technician
Location: London
Reporting to: Data Centre Shift Leader
Hours: 06:30 - 18:30 & 18:30 - 06:30 (Continental Shift Pattern) - 42hrs per week

We are looking for a skilled Data Centre Shift Mechanical Technician to join our team in London. You will be responsible for operating, maintaining, and inspecting mechanical systems within the Data Centre, ensuring optimal performance and reliability. You will work closely with the Data Centre Shift Leader to ensure smooth day-to-day operations.

Key Responsibilities:
Operate mechanical systems, including isolations and operations, with a focus on efficiency and energy use.
Collaborate with the Shift Leader to ensure work complies with SOPs and safety procedures.
Provide backup support during team absences.
Accurately report work orders and track stock items used.
Participate in QHSE compliance activities, including reporting and toolbox talks.
Liaise with suppliers for M&E component orders and support continuous improvement initiatives.

Scope of Services:
Mechanical systems (HVAC, chillers, heating systems, pumps, VFDs).
Fire and emergency systems, lighting control, and power distribution.
Lifts, motors, and other Data Centre-related infrastructure.

Personal Specification:
Minimum 5 years of experience in Data Centres or critical environments.
Mechanical Authorised Person and relevant technical qualifications (HNC/HND or equivalent).
Strong communication skills, proactive in improving operational excellence.
Ability to work under pressure and meet deadlines.
Willingness to attend training and work flexible hours, including travel if required.
