Network Implementation Engineers x2, Hybrid (based in London, remote 95% of the time with potentially going to office once a week)

We are recruiting for an experienced Network Engineer for a leading financial services organisation, with the ability to architect, design, define standards, generate and deploy blueprints of network designs. You will have proven commercial experience in high-availability Enterprise environments, ideally in financial services.

1. Network Assessment and Design:

  • Network Design Plans and Documentation: This includes comprehensive network design plans that outline the proposed architecture, topology, and configurations. It should provide a clear roadmap for the network infrastructure.
  • Network Architecture Diagrams: Detailed network architecture diagrams should visually represent the proposed network design. These diagrams serve as visual aids for understanding the network layout and configuration.

3. LAN Technologies (Cisco ACI experience must)

LAN related implementation: Required experience on Cisco ACI, EVPN VXLAN; Nexus Technologies; Switching and routing, NDO/MSO, L2 Multicast, ECMP, QOS, APIC and network Scripting such as Python/Ansible

2. F5 Load Balancer Configuration (Network Engineer - F5 Specialist):

  • F5 Load Balancer Configurations: These are the configurations for F5 BIG-IP load balancers. This includes loadbalancing rules, profiles, and policies configured to optimize application delivery and ensure high availability.
  • Performance Testing Results for F5 Configurations: Performance testing results should include data on how effectively the F5 load balancers distribute traffic, handle workloads, and ensure optimal performance of applications.

3. Firewall Updates:

  • Documentation of Firewall Rule Updates and Changes: This documentation should outline the changes to Firewall rules and policies. It should specify which rules were updated, added, or removed to align with the new network design.
  • Validation Reports for Firewall Updates: Validation reports demonstrate that the Firewall updates have been successfully implemented and are functioning as intended. These reports may include testing results and confirmation of compliance with security standards.

4. Network Implementation:

CORPORATE

  • Successful Implementation of Network Design Changes: This deliverable signifies that the proposed network design changes have been executed without major disruptions and that the new network architecture is in place.
  • Documentation of Network Changes: Documentation of network changes should include records of configurations made, devices updated, and any other modifications made to the network infrastructure.
  • Functional Redundancy and Failover Mechanisms: This involves the successful implementation and testing of redundancy and failover mechanisms, ensuring that network services remain operational in case of hardware or network failures.

5. Documentation:

  • Detailed Network Documentation: This encompasses detailed records of network configurations, including configurations of Routers, Switches, load balancers, and Firewalls. It should provide comprehensive insights into the network's current state.
  • Comprehensive Handover Documentation: The handover documentation is intended for the client's IT team and includes information necessary for them to maintain and manage the network going forward. It should cover configuration details, procedures, and best practices.

6. Collaboration and Reporting:

  • Resolution Reports for Network-Related Issues: These reports document the identification and resolution of any network-related issues that may have arisen during the project. They detail the nature of the issue, the steps taken to address it, and the outcome.
  • Regular Project Status Reports: Project status reports provide updates on the project's progress, including milestones achieved, challenges faced, and any changes to the project plan. They ensure transparency and communication with the client and project team.
