Position: Mechanic/Fleet Specialist

Location: Liverpool

Are you mechanically minded and ready for an exciting new challenge? Our client is expanding rapidly across the UK and is looking for a dedicated Mechanic/Fleet Specialist to join their team. This role offers the opportunity to be trained in repairs and maintenance, ensuring the fleet is always ready for use.

Contract Duration: 3 months initially
Payrate: £14.23 per hour (Weekly pay) + Accrued paid holiday

Key Responsibilities:

  • Ensure smooth and efficient logistics for the collection and deployment of vehicles, minimising downtime.
  • Search for, find, and collect all vehicles that need to be returned to the warehouse.
  • Perform battery swaps on the streets of your city.
  • Continuously evaluate deployment nodes to ensure vehicles are safely and compliantly placed, easily accessible to riders.
  • Execute re-balancing tasks by moving vehicles from low-demand to high-demand areas.
  • Maintain in-field quality by identifying and addressing damaged vehicles, re-balancing wrongly parked vehicles, and performing quick fixes on the spot.

Mechanical Tasks & Responsibilities:

  • Perform diagnostics on incoming vehicles at the warehouse and determine necessary actions.
  • Execute necessary repairs and charge batteries, ensuring scooters are fully functional and ready for deployment.
  • Assure the quality of repaired scooters meets the client's standards.
  • Report progress and status of all vehicles using the necessary tools and Repair Management Systems (RMS).
  • Manage the logistics of vehicles in the warehouse to maintain an efficient work-flow.

Requirements:

  • Must be 21 years or older (due to insurance requirements).
  • Hold a full UK driving licence for at least 2 years with a maximum of 6 DVLA licence points.
  • In-depth knowledge of your city and comfortable driving in it.
  • Mechanical interest with experience using basic mechanical tools. Proven hands-on experience with mechanics, electronics, or similar is preferred.
  • A responsible team player who can manage tasks independently and work well in a group.
  • Ability to motivate others and share knowledge within the team.
  • Pragmatic problem-solving mentality, able to execute tasks, find solutions, and work hard to meet team targets and KPIs.
  • Ready to navigate the city in a van under any weather and traffic conditions.
  • Ability to react calmly to stressful situations (eg, poor parking, traffic).
  • Physical condition that allows you to carry heavy loads.
  • Flexibility to work shifts, including nights and weekends.
