About the Role:

Our client, a leading utilities company based in Dublin, is seeking an experienced Test Consultant to join their team on a 6-month initial contract. The successful candidate will play a key role in ensuring the quality and reliability of critical systems, particularly those related to utilities and billing processes.

Key Responsibilities:

• Develop, execute, and maintain test plans, test cases, and test scripts to validate system functionality and performance.
• Collaborate with cross-functional teams, including development, business analysis, and operations, to understand requirements and ensure comprehensive test coverage.
• Conduct functional, regression, integration, and user acceptance testing.
• Identify, document, and track defects through to resolution.
• Provide accurate and timely reporting on testing progress and outcomes.
• Support test environment setup, configuration, and maintenance.
• Ensure testing activities adhere to established standards and best practices.

Essential Skills and Experience:

• Proven experience as a Test Consultant, Test Analyst, or similar role within the utilities sector.
• Strong understanding of utilities and billing systems, processes, and workflows.
• Hands-on experience with test management tools (eg, JIRA, TestRail).
• Knowledge of manual and automated testing techniques.
• Ability to analyse and troubleshoot complex issues effectively.
• Excellent communication and stakeholder management skills.

Desirable Skills:

• Familiarity with test automation tools and frameworks.
• ISTQB or equivalent testing certification.
• Experience in Agile and Waterfall delivery methodologies.
