Prolifics Testing is a QA practice, established for over 25 years and a part of Prolifics Inc, a global IT services firm with over 2000 employees, servicing the UK, European and US markets. One of our specialities is Higher Education - we work with many of the UK's leading universities, providing services in testing and QA; especially with Student Information Systems (SIS). We partner with some of the leading vendors in this space, including Tribal, Ellucian and Technology One.

We're looking for an experienced lead test analyst with HE sector experience to join our team to help our clients with their SIS implementations and Cloud migrations - testing will include functional, integration and acceptance, as well as specialist phases such as automation and performance. This is an ideal opportunity for the right candidate to grow into a test management role, with the support of our senior team.

HE will be the main focus but the role will involve a variety of projects, domains, technologies and customers.

Technical Skills

• A minimum of 6+ years testing experience, but preferably more
• Proven experience of leading testing projects, including hands-on testing
• Good understanding of Functional Testing, System Integration Testing and UAT
• Experience working with SIS - ideally Banner or SITS
• Team leading/test management - including scoping/estimates, allocation of work, monitoring of progress, tracking and reporting
• Experience of working in a variety of different technical environments, with team members at all levels

Personal Skills

• Excellent communication skills (written and spoken)
• Needs to be technical, capable of integrating with an existing team and taking the lead on multiple testing projects as needed
• Able to work well autonomously, with a focus on delivery
• Eagerness to learn and an aptitude for picking things up quickly

About you
You need to be a confident, calm IT professional with excellent communication skills, preferably with some consulting experience, capable of quickly picking up new technologies and working on testing projects. You should have a minimum of 6 years testing experience, but ideally more. The role is to take the lead on testing projects, writing test strategies/plans and seeing them through to delivery with support of our team. You will have a passion for testing and will be confident running testing projects, leading and providing support to more junior staff and dealing with client personnel at all levels.

You will be a self-starter, proactively seeking out solutions to problems and issues impeding progress within the wider organisation, taking decisions where needed in order to achieve project objectives.

You should have experience of a range of test phases, including functional, integration, regression, acceptance, and automation.
