Job Opportunity: Head of IT

Contract: Full time, 6 month temporary contract (inside IR35)
Day Rate: Negotiable dependent on experience
Location: Midlands - 1-2 days onsite per week required, with the rest remote working

About the Role

As Head of IT, you will:

• Develop and implement the organisation's IT strategy, ensuring infrastructure stability and performance
• Oversee IT programmes, delivering robust project management and innovative solutions
• Drive procurement and contract management for IT services, ensuring value for money and compliance
• Lead on IT-related business continuity and risk management
• Foster a customer-focused culture, aligning IT services with organisational goals

Key Responsibilities

• Providing strategic leadership for the IT function, ensuring it meets the needs of stakeholders
• Managing third-party suppliers and internal teams to deliver seamless IT services
• Acting as the Chief Information Officer, overseeing information governance and compliance with relevant legislation
• Supporting business transformation, using IT as a strategic enabler for change

What We're Looking For

• Previous experience with a local government setting
• Significant experience managing IT functions in large, complex organisations
• Proven ability to lead IT transformation and large-scale projects
• Strong leadership skills with experience of stakeholder management in a political environment
