We're looking for a Software Engineer to assist in the Catalogue Management.

Primary working site(s) will be: Helsingborg until end of January then Malmö


We are building a new product called catalogue Management. It will enable a better categorization of products for customers in all digital touchpoints. The first step is to automate categorization of the items but some manual interaction needs to be done by the coworker as some products might not end up in the right category through automation. We have started working on the Back End part but we need to build a user Interface to start classifying products. We need to start from scratch as nothing is existing now. The new product will also be able to ingest recommended categorization based on online navigation data. The categorization can be different from a market to another. The web interface needs to be able to cater for this as well.

Frontend Software Engineer

- To be responsible for high quality software development and deployment applying standards for software engineering using agile practices that support delivery and rapid, continuous, frequent software delivery. Responsible for the development of high quality (software) code which has been tested and is ready to be shipped applying and using good practices and agreed standards
'- Responsible for the development of high-quality software design and architecture
'- Work in agile teams in across the capability areas, contributing to the development and maintenance of products and solutions
'- Apply and adhere to good practice software engineering practices (eg DRY principles, TDD and BDD, continuous integration, automated tests, pair programming, code reviews) within an agile/iterative development approach including validation and verification testing
'- Provide support and guidance as needed to other developers within the development team encouraging good practices
'- Ensure they have a good understanding of each user story and the expected outcome
'- Contributing to the continuous development of standards against which software development should take place as well as exploring and bring in new technologies to boost innovation and development productivity
'- Work closely together with other software engineers and cross functions to produce all required design specifications and ensure that digital solutions work together and fulfil business needs Oversee the various solutions being developed, within their product area, incl. code-reviews to ensure technical feasibility and that solutions are optimized for speed, scalability and reusability
'- Support chapter lead in coaching and develop junior team members

* Requirements:

Desired knowledge, experience, competence skills etc.
Extensive knowledge of software engineering principles
Extensive knowledge of software engineering practices including BDD, TDD, test automation, DevOps, code versioning, with knowledge and experience of using industry standard toolsets
Experience of working in agile/iterative software development teams, with an emphasis on selforganisation and delivery to agreed commitments
Knowledge of design and architecture concepts (ie microservices) and ability to apply knowledge within the development cycle
Knowledge of the respective technology capability areas products and services, as well as relevant cloud services
Experience with agile development practices, in which requirements and solutions evolve through the collaborative effort of selforganizing crossfunctional teams
Knowledge of IKEAs corporate identity, core values and vision of creating a better everyday life for the many people about technology and innovation
Energized by working both independently and interdependently with the software engineering network and cross functions
Motivated to work agile and being open to the change

Proven advanced training in computer science or any engineering equivalent
Minimum of 5 years of experience as software engineer

Proven ability to develop high quality code using and applying good practices
Proven ability of agile working and continuous improvement within the software engineering function, encouraging simplicity, efficiency, ownership and accountability
Actively acquires new knowledge and skills and champions new methods, digital systems and processes to improve performance
Changes direction as appropriate based on new ideas, approaches, and strategies
Collaborates with others (incl. virtual) to achieve goals
Ability to understand the complexity of the business and the role of technology as an integrated part of the business
