Business Planning and Analysis Manager

Location: Waterloo in Belgium. Quite a lot of home working available with this role.

Duration: 6 months

Years of experience required: 5 - 10 years' experience +

industry experience: Consultancy background could be a plus. Deloitte, PWC, EY. Payments - this would be a plus

Start date: Latest start date would be December, ideally ASAP

Story Behind the Need

The Europe Finance team drives sound decision-making on strategic topics and business cases; leads mid-term strategic planning for the region, and short-term financial planning and analysis; performance manages and analyzes the business; ensures accuracy of financial records, a strong internal controls environment, and supports risk management; Finance closely collaborates with the business and sales teams to drive shareholder value.
  • BAU and some ad hoc project based work.
  • The successful person will be working closely with the different stakeholders.
Responsibilities -

Preparing reviews with senior stakeholders/board meeting preparations/investor analysis/digging into the data to create a story. The hiring manager will be the lead in those meeting but there are a lot of people we interact with so this person needs to have senior exposure.

Prepare the reviews by understanding the financial results and discussing with different stakeholders. This person won't do the numbers, they need to be financially literate but they won't be doing month end closing for example. They will be business facing.

Prep for strategic reviews - base data is sent over, this person will be here to build the stories from that data. 16 meetings that happen in total so lots of business unit to liaise and co-ordinate with. How can we ensure that's there is a Europe wide story rather than individual business units stories? This person needs to be able to deep dive into the data and partner with the business units. Find what's important, come back with a story and initiatives on how to move forward & suggestions on how to move forward.

  • Financial skills but people who can tell a story. Take data and turn it into the story. Perhaps consultancy background, to be able to executive level story telling.
  • English language skills are required
