Lynx is representing an engineering firm in Lichfield to recruit an experienced Mechanical Design Engineer to join a pioneering team. Successful candidate can expect to quickly be developing next-generation propulsion systems for aerospace applications.
Key Responsibilities:
- Lead the design and development of advanced aerospace propulsion systems and components
- Conduct detailed engineering analysis and performance optimization of new designs
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams to meet customer and regulatory requirements
- Develop prototypes and oversee testing procedures for new innovations
- Present technical designs to stakeholders and participate in design reviews
- Drive continuous improvement in engineering processes and standards
Requirements:
- 5+ years mechanical design experience, aerospace industry preferred
- Bachelor's Degree in Mechanical Engineering or related field
- Expert knowledge of SolidWorks and simulation tools (FEA/CFD)
- Strong background in thermodynamics and materials science
- Hands-on engine/powertrain development experience
- Excellent problem-solving and analytical skills
Offer:
- Competitive salary (£45,000 - £65,000 based on experience)
- 21 days holiday plus bank holidays
- 4.5-day work week (Monday-Thursday 8:30-5:30, Friday 8:30-12:30)
