Director of Innovation Ecosystem - Leading Global Financial Services Company

I am seeking a Director of Innovation Ecosystem to join my client who is a leading global Financial Services company based in the UK. You will be passionate about research, looking to adopt new technologies and challenging the norm.

In this role you will have the opportunity to join a high performing team focussed on improving customer experience, drive innovation and directly influence the future of finance.

Responsibilities:

• Lead in-depth research on cutting-edge technologies-Blockchain, AI, Generative AI, Quantum Computing, and Spatial Computing-to identify new opportunities for collaboration, growth, and innovation within the European ecosystem.
• Cultivate and manage relationships with external partners, including start-ups, investors, academic institutions, and government bodies, to strengthen the company's position in the innovation ecosystem.
• Evaluate experimental opportunities with start-ups, uncovering insights from founders and early-stage ventures that could drive strategic initiatives. Identify emerging talent and innovations with the potential to influence the company's future.
• Position the company as a leader in innovation by sharing insights, engaging with external stakeholders, and fostering an internal culture of forward-thinking and continuous learning.
• Design and implement innovative showcases, hackathons, and industry events to drive engagement and foster a growth mindset in emerging technologies.
• Provide mentorship to start-up founders and entrepreneurs within accelerators and incubators, helping them scale and maximize their potential.

Qualifications:

• Strong background in innovation ecosystems and emerging technologies
• Experience in a start-up environment
• Deep understanding of technological trends, with the ability to assess their impact on the financial services sector and translate that into actionable strategies.
• Outstanding networking skills and a collaborative approach to developing strategic partnerships with diverse stakeholders
• Ability to balance long-term strategic goals with immediate execution, using data-driven insights to influence decision-making.
• Proven ability to lead cross-functional teams
• Motivated to inspire and energize others
• A forward-thinking innovator with a passion for exploring new ideas and technologies that can transform industries, combined with a realistic understanding of potential risks.
