Application Support Technician - SQL experience essential; Glasgow, G40; £25-30k + bonus, pension, hols etc

Want to be part of a major digital transformation? We are seeking an enthusiastic, Application/Software/Database Support Technician (with SQL skills) to join the dynamic IT team of an established, successful Glasgow organisation.

The Application Support Technician will play a key role in the support, maintenance & ongoing enhancement of business critical, database applications which are currently going through a major transformation.

The Application Support Technician should be keen to utilise their own ideas in order to add additional functionality & further improve performance of the key applications.

You will probably be an existing Application Support Technician or IT Support Analyst with a good knowledge of databases (eg SQL Server or Access) and will have gained strong trouble-shooting & problem-solving skills.

You will also have proven experience writing database queries (eg SQL or Excel queries) for data analysis purposes and also have a keenness to learn database reporting tools such as Tableau, Power BI, SQL Scripting or similar in order to create dashboards etc.

A strong communicator, you will liaise with colleagues including users to understand the needs (present & future) of the team & wider business and help to deliver these successfully.

The friendly, enthusiastic team are based from a vibrant location near Glasgow (G40). Relocation package available.

Salary dependent on experience but likely to be £25,000 to 30,000 + good bonus, pension, 29 days holiday, flexible working hours & a great work/life balance.
