This new nuclear project in Suffolk has received planning approval and government backing. Construction is underway, and private investment is being sought. Once completed, it will provide reliable electricity to 6 million homes for the next 60 years, helping the UK achieve Net Zero by 2050 alongside renewable energy sources.
We're seeking multiple experienced Site Operations Health and Safety Advisors to support and advise on critical projects. This role involves providing health and safety guidance across site operations, freight and logistics, site infrastructure, accommodation, catering, security, and more.
Site Operations Health & Safety Advisor In this role, you'll collaborate with Project Managers, Engineering Leads, and Tier 1 Contractors to ensure health and safety compliance on-site. Your ability to engage with stakeholders, challenge practices constructively, and mitigate risks will be vital to the successful delivery of construction projects.
You'll ensure that the Principal Contractor and Tier 1 contractors comply with the Construction (Design & Management) (CDM) Regulations. You will promote health, safety, and wellbeing during both planning and delivery stages, ensuring the project aligns with safety expectations.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Collaborate with construction teams to integrate safety into each project phase.
  • Provide expert guidance on safety standards, including CDM Regulations.
  • Drive proactive risk management in high-pressure environments.
  • Monitor and enforce adherence to health and safety regulations, including CDM Regulations.
  • Conduct site inspections and develop risk assessments to manage hazards.
  • Advise construction teams on safety procedures and best practices.
  • Foster a strong safety culture and proactive safety behavior across the site.
  • Organize and deliver health and safety training for all site personnel.
  • Lead investigations into accidents and unsafe practices, and recommend improvements.
  • Track safety performance, maintain records, and report to management.
  • Support the development and practice of emergency response plans.
  • Ensure compliance with safety regulations and stay updated on changes.
  • Promote worker wellbeing initiatives, including mental health and fatigue management.

Key Skills and Qualifications
  • IOSH Membership and a valis CSCS Card
  • Experience in construction (with knowledge of CDM Regulations).
  • Passion for health, safety, wellbeing, and continuous improvement.
  • Experience in leading investigations into accidents, incidents, and ill health.
  • A self-aware team player who leverages strengths effectively.
  • A recognized Health & Safety qualification.
  • A proven track record of delivering excellent safety results.
Desirable:
  • Previous experience in the nuclear industry.
  • A degree in Construction, Transport, Environmental Studies, or another relevant field.
