Head of Studio Engineering - Automotive Scale-Up

Location: Hybrid (Bicester and Leamington Spa)
Salary: £120,000 - £140,000 + plus exceptional benefits

The Role: Head of Studio Engineering

In this pivotal role, you'll report to the Director of Design Operations and lead a talented, multidisciplinary Studio Engineering team. You'll drive innovation and collaboration, ensuring feasibility and technical excellence across multiple vehicle programs. What You'll Do:

  • Lead studio engineering activities across multiple vehicle programs, from concept design through manufacturing readiness.
  • Drive the convergence of design and engineering, delivering solutions that meet technical, legal, and design standards.
  • Present technical and feasibility updates to senior leadership, including CEO and Chairman-level reviews.
  • Oversee CAD development and manage design feasibility to ensure compatibility with program requirements.
  • Resolve technical challenges and manage cross-functional design review processes to ensure milestone delivery.
  • Build and manage a robust system to track and resolve feasibility issues across programs.

About You:

  • Experienced Leader: A seasoned Studio Engineering Manager with a track record of leading cross-functional teams in fast-paced environments.
  • Technical Expertise: Strong understanding of whole-vehicle systems, including trim, closures, lighting, safety, and assembly.
  • CAD Proficiency: Advanced skills in Catia V5/V6/3DX and familiarity with Alias, ICEM, and Blender processes.
  • Creative Problem Solver: Able to tackle complex technical challenges and deliver innovative solutions.
  • Exceptional Communicator: Skilled in stakeholder engagement, presenting at senior levels, and leading cross-functional collaboration.
