Our client are a top tier consultancy looking for a Scala Developer on a 6 months contract.

Key Responsibilities:

• Design, develop, and maintain Back End systems using Scala, Play Framework, and Akka.
• Build highly concurrent, resilient, and distributed applications.
• Write clean, efficient, and well-documented code.
• Collaborate with cross-functional teams to gather requirements and deliver solutions.
• Optimize applications for performance and scalability.
• Ensure code quality through testing (unit, integration) and participate in peer reviews.
• Troubleshoot and resolve issues in development and production environments.
• Contribute to improving development processes and best practices.

Essential Skills and Experience:

• Strong experience with Scala programming language.
• Hands-on experience with Play Framework for building web applications and RESTful APIs.
• Proficiency with Akka for building concurrent and distributed applications.
• Knowledge of functional programming principles.
• Familiarity with relational and NoSQL databases (eg, PostgreSQL, MongoDB).
• Experience with build tools such as SBT and version control systems like Git.
• Strong understanding of microservices architecture.
• Ability to write clean, maintainable, and testable code.
