Exciting Opportunity: Project Engineer - Smart Infrastructure

Location: Heathrow Airport

Type: Contract

We have an exciting opportunity for a skilled and motivated Project Engineer to join our Smart Infrastructure team at Computacenter. This role offers the chance to work on high-profile projects at Heathrow Airport, ensuring the delivery of innovative technology solutions in a dynamic, fast-paced environment.

As a Project Engineer, you will be responsible for planning and controlling day-to-day activities to ensure the successful delivery of onsite customer projects and minor works. You will work closely with the Project Management team to meet time, cost, quality, and customer satisfaction targets, all while ensuring the highest standards of safety and compliance.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Manage site-based activities, ensuring projects are delivered on time, within budget, and to the highest quality standards
  • Support the Project Management team in driving scope growth and maximising revenue through variation orders
  • Ensure compliance with customer and company processes, procedures, and statutory obligations
  • Coordinate resources, risk assessments, method statements, and permits to ensure smooth project execution
  • Provide clear and accurate project reporting to both internal teams and customers

Experience:

  • Minimum 3 years supervisory experience in the structured cabling industry
  • Experience in Project Management controls, including change management, risk management, and project planning
  • Excellent technical knowledge of structured cabling design and industry-standard testing procedures
  • Strong communication and stakeholder management skills, with the ability to solve problems pragmatically
  • SMSTS qualification or equivalent for managing a safe construction site
  • Valid ECS health & safety card
  • Experience in airport or similar industries is a plus
