Salary: £50,000 - £60,000
Location: Hybrid/Birmingham, West Midlands - occasional travel/as required
6 Month FTC
Start: December/January

A highly accomplished Pensions Business Project Manager is required ASAP for our leading financial services company located in Birmingham city centre. The successful candidate will have extensive experience in the pensions industry, and a proven track record in project management and successful project delivery to join a growing Pensions Project Management Team.

You will be responsible for managing high profile client projects autonomously across all our client's service lines and offices nationwide. Occasionally there could also be the opportunity to be involved in key strategic internal projects for leadership.

This role offers an excellent opportunity to take the lead on a variety of complex client-facing projects, often bespoke in nature, whilst developing your skills as a consultant and trusted advisor.

Responsibilities will vary from project to project, however typically these will include:
  • Client projects - Drive and manage the full project life cycle including set up, planning, managing/progress reporting to key stakeholders, control, and project close.
  • Financial Management - WIP management, preparation of fees/invoices, control of budget v actual.
  • Project Management Development - Proactively sharing project management best practices/processes internally.
  • Business Development -Provide input into RFPs, pitches, and proposals, building relationships within the business, and their clients to harness opportunities for future potential project management support.
  • Internal projects/work - Providing occasional management of key strategic internal projects and initiatives.

Key Skills & Experience
  • A proven track record of the successful delivery of projects within the pensions industry.
  • Exhibits confidence and assertiveness in leading projects and conducting calls and meetings.
  • A collaborative team player capable of building and sustaining relationships with colleagues and senior stakeholders both internally and externally.
  • IT literacy - Microsoft Office applications including MS Project, Word, Excel and PowerPoint
  • Ability to use own initiative and work autonomously.
  • Confidence to manage/prioritise own workload, whilst working on multiple projects simultaneously, to ensure exceptional project delivery.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills and attention to detail
  • Qualifications: Association for Project Management Certification qualification, PMQ or ChPP.
