Job Description:
The Instrumentation and Control team is responsible for the implementation, quality assurance, and operational support of SCADA systems for high-voltage substations and generation & storage assets (WTG, PV, and Storage) in our onshore wind farms and PV plants. As a SCADA and Network Engineer, you will work in a project-oriented manner, assuming technical responsibility during the development and construction phases of projects, and providing operational support during their subsequent operational phases. Your tasks will include performing engineering activities, remote configurations, site implementations, and contractor steering.

Responsibilities:

  • Define and prepare technical specifications.
  • Check designs provided by contractors and suppliers.
  • Design system interfaces and further develop and implement them.
  • Conduct quality and acceptance tests of contractors, ensuring they are carried out and documented according to specifications (FAT and SAT).
  • Accompany complex commissioning activities of suppliers and check their results.
  • Coordinate, prioritize, track, and perform troubleshooting and maintenance of related systems with the operations teams.
  • Manage contractors and service providers performing design, implementation, maintenance, and troubleshooting activities on relevant systems.
  • Lead and drive SCADA projects to optimize monitoring and control functions and data availability.
  • Actively participate in an international team, sharing knowledge, experience, achievements, and lessons learned.
  • Facilitate good collaboration and knowledge sharing with other teams in the renewable energy business units.

Requirements:

  • University Degree or equivalent in a relevant technical or engineering discipline, or equivalent experience.
  • At least 5 years of relevant professional experience with SCADA systems.
  • Experience with control systems, automation, SCADA, PLCs, RTUs, and IEDs.
  • Experience with industrial communication protocols (especially OPC family, Modbus, IEC-104, and MMS) and their network-specific behaviours.
  • Experience in network design and/or administration and network components setup (Switches, Firewalls, etc.). Certification in networking is a plus.
  • Experience with SCADA systems in high-voltage substations, wind turbines, and/or solar plants and their infrastructure is a plus.
  • Relevant Project Management skills and experience with supervision of contractors.
  • Ability to communicate clearly and concisely.
  • Ability to conduct risk analysis and implement risk mitigation plans.
  • Ability to multi-task and schedule according to project priority.
  • Expected average travel during the working week: 20%-30%.
  • Valid EU driving license.
  • Fluent in written and spoken English and Italian. Other languages like Polish, Swedish, French, German, or Spanish are a plus
