We are looking to hire 3 data analysts for our client based in the centre of Newcastle. Depending on your skill set you will be involved in some (NOT ALL) of the below responsibilities. Business knowledge (asset management) is not required for all data analyst roles.

Responsibilities for Data role 1 & 2:

? Support issues related to Market Data, BAU activities, small projects to attend bigger business needs, and process and knowledge documentation

? Looks for automation opportunities

? Play a proactive role in proposing new processes, tools & approaches

? Specification of new functionality as required by projects across the front, middle and Back Office

? Ongoing improvement of knowledge through better documentation and knowledge management infrastructure

? Suggest innovative solutions to business problems/processes that leverage technology to provide marketing differentiation, efficiency improvements, and better user experiences

? Help investigate complex functional software issues, assist in root cause analysis, and establish a solution

? Identify and manage risks and flag major issues early

? Able to do recommendations and make own judgments on any situation

?Review and solve daily exceptions raised on Equities, Bonds, Issuers, Equity and Credit Indices, etc.

? Work with data vendors such as Bloomberg and S&P to correct inaccurate data points

? Communicate effectively with all key stakeholders and subscribers of reference data

? Reference data onboarding using Azure Databricks including data quality checks and alerting

? Assist with testing during regular and major sprints

? Work with EDM developers for overall maintenance of platform

? Help with defining and documenting procedures for reference data to increase data quality and integrity within the organization

Responsibilities for Data role 3:

? Setup data trials and subscriptions of alternative datasets for research economists

? Ingest and publish datasets using the Data Team's platform, using Databricks and Dremio

? Maintain and extend the data quality check library

? Monitor vendor data quality and improve vendor performance

? Perform data analysis using Python, Jupyter, SQL and Tableau

? Produce dashboards and visualizations

? Data scout, profile vendors & provide economists with feedback about data landscape

? Plan work given company priorities

? Provide regular status updates to internal stakeholders

Required

? Have a technical background with SQL and solid data interrogation skills

? Experience with Python

? Shows initiative and willingness to learn

? Clear and concise communication style

? A minimum 2.1 degree obtained in Computer Science, or a related field, ideally from a Russell Group University

Preferred

? Experience on Buy Side

? Advanced excel skills

? Experience working with high volume datasets

? Experience on Market Data systems working with financial data providers like Bloomberg, Reuters, S&P, etc., would be beneficial

? Process documentation

? Good theoretical knowledge of the inputs needed for derivative and securities pricing

? Prior experience working with Markit EDM software and data lake technologies

? Experience working in a fast-paced environment

? Experience working with developers

? Prior experience building a security master
