Role Overview
You have the chance to join a leading UK specialist engineering contractor, providing engineering, construction, demolition, decommissioning, remediation, environmental services, and reinforced concrete frame solutions. Our client, plays a key role in shaping Britain's built environment and major civil engineering projects, operating in highly regulated sectors across the UK.
Primary Responsibilities:
- Lead day-to-day operational management of infrastructure incident support queues.
- Serve as the technical escalation point for the service desk team, troubleshooting complex technical issues.
- Coordinate installation, setup, and configuration of LANs, including procurement and deployment of network hardware.
- Monitor network infrastructure health, capacity, and operational performance using monitoring tools.
- Manage ISP relationships and oversee Firewall estate to ensure network operational performance.
- Ensure business continuity and disaster recovery by supporting network outages and maintaining high availability.
- Administer Windows Servers, including maintenance, debugging, and patching.
- Lead migrations of Windows server VMs from on-premises to cloud environments.
- Deploy business applications using InTune and Group Policy, ensuring operational security.
- Maintain network IP Addressing environment and VPN setups between offices for IT operational continuity.
- Coordinate with ISPs for ordering, implementation, and testing of office and site connectivity.
- Manage rapid connectivity solutions for fast and secure Internet access to reduce site setup delays.
- Setup standalone 4G Routers and relocate site networks and equipment for business continuity.
- Manage cost-effective site connectivity solutions and network equipment returns.
- Maintain up-to-date inventory and configuration of operational infrastructures, hardware, software, and licenses.
- Onboard infrastructure estate into the managed Security Operations Center (SOC).
- Collaborate with SOC team on network incident and security intelligence management.
- Implement proactive, preventive, and reactive maintenance for network incident and security threats.
Key Skills:
- Minimum of 5+ years' experience working as infrastructure Engineer or similar
- Strong knowledge of Azure AD, O365, Active Directory.
- Excellent understanding of application deployments.
- Professional qualifications, Microsoft, CCNA. MUST
- Strong technical proficiency in LAN/WAN setup, configuration, and troubleshooting.
- Expertise in Windows server administration, maintenance, and cloud migrations.
- Advanced knowledge of network monitoring tools and capacity planning.
- Experience in managing ISP relationships and Firewall estate for network security.
- Ability to lead and support business continuity and disaster recovery efforts.
- Proficient in deploying and managing business applications with security protocols.
- Skilled in managing network IP Addressing schemes and VPN setups.
