Our client is a leading engineering and project services company who provide bespoke solutions across a number of marine related sectors. Due to growth they now require a Senior Project Controls Engineer to join their busy North East facility.
The Role
Reporting to the Project Controls Manager, you will work as part of the Project Controls team supporting high profile offshore energy projects, providing performance reporting and analysis support, managing project schedules, budgets, including risk and change management.
This is an opportunity to work within a diverse multi-disciplinary team to deliver exciting projects in the field of Offshore Energy.
Typical activities include working with project managers and engineers to develop work breakdown structures and robust performance baselines, establishing progress and cost monitoring methods, producing project control reports and providing performance analysis and recommendations for the delivery team.
You will be responsible for:
Creating and maintaining project schedules and budgets, contributing to programme schedules, and producing earned value reports, including CPI and SPI metrics and S-Curves.
Change management & risk management.
Supporting the Project Controls Manager with enterprise resource planning & process improvement initiatives.
Demonstrating the advantages of good planning and cost control techniques to the Project Team and the wider business.
Supporting the Project Controls Manager to develop tracking documentation and processes which will integrate project planning & controls as a standard way of working.
Inform stakeholders of current project status.
The Person
Degree educated, with a planning related qualification i.e P6.
Relevant experience working in a project controls environment.
Experience in at least one of the following: Programme Controls Management, Earned Value (EVM), Change & Risk Management, Planning, Project Controls and or PMO.
Knowledge of complex engineering and construction projects, offshore energy is advantageous.
Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
Rigorous in following documented processes and governance and able to demonstrate the ability to innovate in creative ways to meet the challenges of the changing project environment.
Proficient in both Oracle Primavera P6 and Microsoft Project planning tools, and familiar with cost control methodologies and ERP/MRP software.
Knowledge of Power BI would be advantageous
