About the Role:
A public sector organisation is seeking a highly skilled Interim Pay, Reward & Industrial Relations Manager to lead a critical area within their HR function during a period of restructuring. This is an exciting opportunity to drive transformation across pay, reward, and industrial relations, ensuring the development of effective strategies that support the organisation's objectives.
Key Responsibilities:
- Lead the design, review, and implementation of pay reviews to ensure staff are paid fairly and competitively, with a clear structure for pay progression.
- Manage annual pay negotiations and consultations with trade unions, ensuring transparent communication with all stakeholders.
- Develop and implement a comprehensive reward strategy that supports diverse employee needs and enhances the organisation's overall employee value proposition.
- Own and regularly review pay, rewards, and benefit policies, ensuring they are up-to-date and compliant with relevant regulations.
- Design frameworks to support consistency across pay and reward practices while staying ahead of legislative changes and best practices.
- Provide expert advice to managers on employment terms and conditions, supporting them with relevant correspondence and queries.
- Lead and manage the organisation's industrial relations strategy, acting as the main point of contact for trade union negotiations.
Qualifications & Experience:
- CIPD qualification or equivalent experience providing senior-level HR advice within a large or complex organisation.
- Proven experience leading pay negotiations and engaging with trade unions through periods of change.
- Strong background in HR rewards and benefits, with a deep understanding of employment and equality legislation.
- Experience managing teams through transitions, with a focus on achieving people-driven outcomes.
Skills & Abilities:
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to prepare high-quality reports and briefings.
- Strategic thinker with a creative approach to solving complex problems.
- Strong interpersonal skills and the ability to foster positive relationships with a range of stakeholders, including trade unions.
