Senior Materials Testing Technician

Role: -Senior Materials Testing Technician
Location: -Manchester - onsite
Salary: - Competitive salary (DOE)

Russell- Taylor Group have a fantastic opportunity for a Senior Technician to join our clients Global Testing organisation.
Our client is looking for someone who has previous industrial experience working within a materials, industrial manufacturing or chemical/Engineering laboratory with previous exposure of performing testing, maintaining equipment and working to testing standards.

Responsibilities
• Performing corrosion, metals and materials testing.
• Recording test results.
• Maintaining and setting up laboratory equipment- ensuring that it is in safe working order.
• Work to testing standards such as ISO 17025.
• Communicate requirements to Project Manager.
• Suggest activities and improvements.
• Assist in implementation of any identified actions.
• Client contact may be required.
• Housekeeping of the laboratory.

The Person
• Previous industrial based experience within a testing facility- materials, Oil & gas, heavy manufacturing or chemical.
• Experience in materials science or metallurgy would be beneficial.
• Experience of ISO 17025 would be advantageous.
• Understanding of laboratory safety procedures and experience of handling chemicals.
• Good organisational and time management skills.
• Ability to work within a team but also individually.
• A can do' attitude.
• Excellent problem solver.
