Astute's Nuclear team is partnering with a bespoke engineering provider who specialise in offering solutions to the nuclear and defence sectors. They are currently looking to recruit a Senior Mechanical Engineer for its Chorley site.
The Senior Mechanical Engineer role is ideal for an individual experienced in engineering design and development. The role comes with a salary of up to £60,000 per annum (or £50 an hour, if contractor).

Responsibilities and duties
Reporting to the Principle Mechanical Engineer you will:
Lead the creation of 3D models and drawings that incorporate safety, operational, and maintenance needs.
Develop robust engineering design documentation to support project requirements.
Ensure that all designs and engineering activities conform to applicable standards, including UKCA/CE marking requirements, and comply with safety regulations such as LOLER, PUWER, and CDM.
Work collaboratively with internal and external stakeholders, including procurement and testing teams, to ensure that project specifications and timelines are met.
Provide insights and feedback to improve engineering processes.
Professional qualifications
We are looking for someone with the following:
Bachelor's Degree in an engineering discipline
Proven experience in engineering design development within nuclear or a similarly regulated environment.
Strong knowledge of safety regulations and technical standards relevant to engineering design.

Salary up to £60,000 or £50 an hour for contractors
25 days holiday + bank holidays
