Job Description
We are seeking an experienced DevOps Engineer to support and optimize real-time, high-throughput applications. This role involves application support, troubleshooting, and platform maintenance, requiring expertise in Red Hat’s Kubernetes (OpenShift/Mirantis), Docker, and Cloud DevOps tools.
This is a hybrid role with 3 days onsite per week.
Key Responsibilities
* Provide 24x7 Application Support across multiple applications, ensuring high availability and rapid issue resolution.
* Perform code and operational break-fix applications and proactive maintenance to keep services running efficiently.
* Diagnose and resolve application issues, delivering effective solutions to maintain platform stability.
* Manage performance tuning for multiple applications, optimizing systems for high volume and high throughput.
* Maintain service and ticket SLAs, organizing workflows to meet targets and collaborating with various technology and product development teams.
* Assess reliability, ensuring all Operational Acceptance Criteria are met.
Required Technical Skills
* Application Support: Intermediate-level experience supporting real-time applications with strong analytical and troubleshooting skills, especially for high-throughput environments.
* OpenShift/Mirantis (Kubernetes): Expert-level proficiency with Red Hat’s Kubernetes and Docker platform.
* Cloud DevOps & Automation: Expert-level experience as a Cloud DevOps Engineer, Build & Release Engineer, System Administrator, and Automation specialist.
* Kubernetes Orchestration: Expertise in using Kubernetes for deploying, scaling, and load balancing Docker containers, including experience with Jenkins for pod creation, config maps, and deployment setups.
* Network/Application Security: Basic-level experience with Akamai/Cloudflare and Active-Active setup applications.
* Linux/UNIX: Intermediate-level knowledge of Linux and UNIX operating systems.
* Programming Knowledge: Basic experience with Golang and Java-based applications.
* Database Skills: Basic experience with IBM DB2, MySQL, and Cassandra databases.
* Load Balancer & TCP Architecture: Intermediate-level experience with load balancers and TCP layer architecture.
Engagement Deliverables
* Application Support: Provide consistent 24/7 application support.
* Maintenance & Fixes: Implement code break-fixes and proactive maintenance to optimize performance.
* Issue Management: Evaluate and address issues reported by stakeholders and provide effective solutions.
* Performance Management: Tune and manage application performance to handle high-volume, high-throughput demands.
