Process Engineer / Chemical Engineer (Hybrid, Near Ellesmere Port)
We are thrilled to present a fantastic opportunity for a Process Engineer / Chemical Engineer to join our client, with an office based near Ellesmere Port. This role offers the chance to play a pivotal role in driving the transition towards a carbon-neutral future.
The Opportunity:
- Hybrid working model: 2 days from home, with flexible working hours.
- This position will involve delivering process design and analysis for various projects, ensuring they meet the customer s functional requirements while adhering to high standards and timelines.
- As the role is within a sensitive area of the nuclear industry, the successful candidate will need, or be eligible to obtain, SC-level security clearance, which typically takes 6-8 weeks for UK passport holders.
- Occasional travel to European suppliers and other client sites is required.
About You: Our client is particularly keen to hear from candidates with a minimum of three years post-graduate experience who are eager to develop their careers.
Key Responsibilities:
- Ensure all activities meet the highest health, safety, and environmental standards.
- Produce high-quality technical reports and specifications.
- Provide innovative technical solutions, including design substantiation, calculations, and underpinning data.
- Present and promote design solutions to both internal and external stakeholders.
- Analyse plant process and test data, developing validated performance models for equipment and systems.
- Maintain specialist knowledge and review technical specifications related to process design.
- Offer technical support during design reviews, ISA/HAZOP meetings.
- Contribute to project proposals with schedules and cost forecasts.
- Manage project deliverables and provide clear status updates to stakeholders.
Qualifications & Experience:
- A degree in Chemical Engineering (2:1 or above) or equivalent.
- Experience in design and simulation within a large-scale process industry (e.g., chemical, oil/gas, or nuclear).
- Proficiency in process modelling and simulation tools, including Matlab and Simulink.
- Demonstrated experience in Process or Chemical Engineering design.
