Desktop Engineer
Desktop engineer (DV Cleared) - £350 - 375 per day via umbrella - Salisbury - SCC Flex Contract
We seek an experienced desktop engineer who will ensure the seamless operation of desktop environments across our client sites. You will be responsible for troubleshooting hardware and software issues, deploying new systems, and ensuring compliance with security protocols.
Your key responsibilities as Desktop engineer:
- Provide 1st and 2nd line technical support for desktop systems, including installation, configuration, and maintenance of hardware and software.
- Troubleshoot and resolve technical issues, escalating to higher support levels when necessary.
- Manage user accounts, permissions, and access rights in accordance with company policies.
- Deploy and maintain desktop infrastructure, ensuring all systems are up-to-date and compliant with security standards.
- Collaborate with other IT teams to ensure seamless integration of desktop solutions with network and server environments.
- Document all incidents, service requests, and changes in the appropriate systems.
As Desktop engineer, you will have:
- Active DV clearance
- Strong knowledge of Windows OS, Active Directory, and Microsoft Office Suite.
- Experience with hardware troubleshooting and software installation.
- Understanding of network concepts and how they relate to desktop environments.
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
- Excellent problem-solving skills and attention to detail.
- Strong communication skills, both written and verbal.
