Job Title: Infrastructure Engineer - Fixed-term Contract
Location: Bromley, London
Remuneration: Competitive salary based on experience
Contract Details: Fixed Term Contract, 6 months
Responsibilities:
- Collaborate with end users and application specialists to understand the business requirements of Legacy applications
- Develop and execute a plan to upgrade the host operating system and ensure the application continues to function
- Provide a replacement application that is fully supported
- Isolate Legacy applications to mitigate security risks posed by outdated operating systems
- Implement, test, and document solutions for identified Legacy applications
Our client, a well-established organisation in the financial services industry, is seeking an Infrastructure Engineer to join their team in Bromley, London. They operate several Legacy systems running on unsupported Microsoft operating systems, which poses security vulnerabilities and operational risks.
As an Infrastructure Engineer, you will have the opportunity to work closely with end users and application specialists to fully understand the business requirements of these Legacy applications. Based on this understanding, you will develop and execute a plan to upgrade the host operating system and ensure the application continues to function seamlessly.
You will also provide a replacement application that is fully supported, addressing the security risks associated with outdated operating systems.
To succeed in this role, you should have experience with Windows Server , security vulnerability management, Azure, domain structures, Scripting, group policy, FoxPro, and Access 97. Additionally, you must be willing to work outside of business hours when necessary to ensure the smooth implementation of system upgrades.
The role is based in Bromley, London, with parking available nearby and convenient access to Bromley South train station. It offers a fixed-term contract of 6 months, with a competitive salary based on experience.
