Lead Network Engineer - Hybrid 2 days in Milton Keynes/London

The successful Lead Network Engineer will join an existing small team, acting as the hands-on Network Lead, providing day to day management and point of escalation for Level 2 and 3 Network & Infrastructure Engineers.
Key Responsibilities:
- Manage and mentor L3 and L2 engineers for network and server
- Complete 121's, appraisals, and development reviews as part of standard review
- Capable of developing high- and low-level project plans for infrastructure upgrade projects
- Lead coordination of project for upgrading network infrastructure with a hands-on approach and technical guidance.
- Recommend process improvements and assist in enabling these.
- Champion and develop adherence to company IT standards.
- Champion and develop adherence to company IT process such as change management.
- Manage and oversight tickets that require escalation within the team.
- Deliver technical fixes for incidents for network infrastructure and End user desktop support for VIPs.
- Support the wider team with fixes for server infrastructure.
- Co-ordinate technical documentation updates across the region.
- Manage and co-ordinate project delivery deployments for upgrades and new solutions
- Technical hands-on expert with Checkpoint Firewall, firepower Firewall, Cisco switching.
- Other duties as directed by the Regional IT Director.
Key Skills:
- CCNA or CCNA Security are expected minimums with CCNP preferred
- Cisco Catalyst switching and Integrated Services Routers hands on config/deploy mgmt experience
- Firepower, Checkpoint and NGFW technology experience.
- Windows server and upgrade experience
- Good engagement and management skills
- Ability to engage business stakeholders
- Excellent VIP white glove approach to support
- Capability to manage a team and operationally own services in a complex and busy environment.
- Troubleshooting and problem resolution skills.
- Incident management
- Decision making skills
- Ability to manage projects and co-ordinate delivery
