DEV ENGINEER Oracle DATAWAREHOUSE - UTRECHT - 1 YEAR CONTRACT

Global Enterprise Partners are looking for a Dev engineer to re-design an Oracle datawarehouse, experienced in ETL and PL/SQL

Your work environment

In this role you will work in the IT organization of Risk Management in a BusDevOps team.

All risks and issues are registered in an application which is the basis for multiple types of reports used by risk managers, and by higher country and corporate management.

The reports give overview and details of risk and issue areas and relate to expected loss tolerance.

The reports are used for ECB- and other regulatory reporting, audits, internal risk processes, provisioning processes, and to measure exposure, and are used to control the company's risk appetite. Further development and improving the current datawarehouse, and reporting functionality has been prioritised as a strategic objective.

The current Oracle datawarehouse is in a transformation phase: Business Intelligence (BI) functionality is being developed, to feed dynamic reports by Cognos.

Your team consists of business, IT Developers and Operations specialists. This team has all expertise necessary to support and develop all non-financial risk applications. The squad works according to Agile scrum, which means that work is sliced and planned in sprints.

As Developer in the team you take responsibility to deliver value according to sprint planning. Together with the team you are responsible to (re-)design and improve the application and its BI solution. And together with all stakeholders, you jointly work towards the combined goal: develop a solution with is maintainable and clearly reports on all data information needs.

Who are you?

You are a driven IT specialist with excellent analytical and programming skills. You have very good social and communication skills. You feel a personal responsibility for the quality of your application and its reliability, and you work together with your colleagues across your domain. You recognise problems and work to solve them by yourself and with other colleagues. You have a have a 'no nonsense' getting-things-done mentality.

Your profile

Your key competences:

Excellent team player, persistent, service oriented, customer centric, eager to learn You have excellent knowledge of and at least 6 years experience with Oracle databases, including experience with data models of Data Staging Environments and Data Warehouses.

In specific: You are capable to learn and oversee an entire Data Warehouse. You are capable to re-design the data model of the current DWH, to efficiently support current reporting. You have excellent PL/SQL coding skills.

In PL/SQL you are able to develop new ETL procedures, and fine-tune existing PL/SQL code for efficiency and maintenance reasons You are capable to build Data Marts, to enable the building of interactive/BI reporting instead of our current static reports).

Also you are capable to develop efficient and maintainable SQL queries

You are capable to educate/instruct report builders how to configure their reports so that they get up and running and can carry out themselves From the perspective of your database knowledge and experience, you are capable to advice and support Operations Engineers and other team members, eg during an upcoming transfer operation of the current Data Warehouse into the Private Cloud environment You like to deep-dive technology, to search for root causes of issues and incidents, and to resolve them.

Preferred: Degree in Computer Science or equivalent Experience with Continuous Delivery Excellent English communication skills, verbal and written. Understanding of Dutch language.
