We are working with a leading consultancy firm who are looking to hire an experienced Payroll Specialist to join their existing payroll function of 8. This payroll department plays a vital role in supporting clients with expert payroll management and compliance.
Key Responsibilities:
• Manage end-to-end payroll processing for a portfolio of clients, ensuring accuracy and compliance with UK payroll legislation.
• Handle complex payroll calculations including overtime, bonuses, deductions, and statutory payments (e.g., SSP, SMP, SPP).
• Ensure timely submission of RTI filings to HMRC and adherence to all tax requirements.
• Provide expert advice to clients on payroll matters, including pay structures, pensions, and auto-enrolment.
• Reconcile payroll accounts and resolve any discrepancies or issues with payroll systems.
• Liaise with internal teams and external bodies (e.g., HMRC, pension providers) to resolve payroll queries.
• Stay up to date with changes in payroll legislation and implement any necessary adjustments.
• Support year-end processes, including P60s, P11Ds, and other payroll-related reports.
Key Requirements:
• Proven experience as a Payroll Specialist, ideally within a consultancy or multi-client environment. 3 years + experience
• Strong understanding of UK payroll legislation, including statutory deductions and RTI.
• Experience using payroll software (e.g., Sage, Xero, ADP, or similar).
• Strong communication skills, with the ability to explain payroll processes to clients and resolve issues efficiently.
