Overview of Responsibilities:
The Monitor Technician will run an admission rhythm strip for patients admitted to ICCU, PPCU and CVU.
The Monitor Technician’s primary responsibility is to notify the Nurse of any changes such as baseline rhythm, rhythm/rate changes, patient disposition, and communication with the patient’s primary Nurse.
Follows Code Procedures.
Properly operates unit communication equipment.
Calls staff as directed.
Initiates work orders.
Independently proceeds with daily routine without delay.
Strict adherence to Infection Control Policy with specific emphasis on hand hygiene.
Patient care responsibilities are assigned to the staff member in accordance with the degree of supervision needed
Education/Experience:
Education Required: Successful completion of Reid Health Basic Arrhythmia course upon hire
