Loan Officer Assistant – Fairfax, VA

We're seeking a motivated and detail-oriented Loan Officer assistant to join our dynamic team in Fairfax, VA. Key Responsibilities:

Loan Documentation & Preparation: Gather missing information and documents from customers to ensure complete and accurate loan files.

Prequalification Support: Utilize industry-specific tools (AUS portals) to assess customer eligibility based on the information provided by Loan Officers.

Customer Relations: Serve as the primary point of contact for customers in the absence of the Loan Officer, providing guidance and updates (excluding licensable activities).

Team & Task Coordination: Ensure timely ordering of appraisals, title work, and other essential documentation while managing weekly pipeline meetings.

Loan Disclosure Management: Prepare and deliver loan disclosures to customers, ensuring compliance with regulations.

Progress Tracking & Communication: Keep customers and real estate agents informed about the status of loan applications, providing regular updates.

Database & CRM Management: Maintain and update customer information in the Loan Officer’s database, ensuring accuracy and timely follow-ups.

Marketing Support: Assist Loan Officers with marketing campaigns, including social media, and other promotional activities.

Administrative Duties: Handle day-to-day administrative tasks such as emails, and calls, and manage tracking tools to support smooth team operations.

Sales Support:  Assisting loan officers follow up on leads and maintain relationships; Understanding the sales process and how to assist in building and maintaining client relationships.

Qualifications:

Experience: 2+ years of experience in a mortgage-related role (Loan Officer Assistant, Processor, Underwriter, etc.).

Licensing: NMLS license preferred but not required.

Industry Knowledge: Strong understanding of conventional loans, government (FHA/VA) loans, and First Time Homebuyer program guidelines and requirements

Technical Skills: Proficiency with Encompass loan software and Excel skills is highly preferred.

Organized & Detail-Oriented: Strong attention to detail and ability to manage multiple tasks efficiently.

Customer-Centric Mindset: Excellent communication and customer service skills, focusing on building and maintaining client relationships.

Marketing Savvy: Experience in supporting marketing and sales efforts is a plus.

Dynamic & Fast-Paced: Ability to thrive in a fast-paced environment, handling changing priorities with ease.

Time Management: Managing multiple priorities and ensuring deadlines are met.  Including completing tasks quickly without compromising quality.

Problem-Solving Abilities: Ability to troubleshoot issues and find solutions during the loan process.
