Overview:

The Advanced Practice Registered Nurse is responsible for diagnosing and treating a variety of diseases and injuries in a Family Practice model setting; provides comprehensive, outpatient medical services for individuals and families on a continuing basis.  Additionally, at certain sites, the Advanced Practice Registered Nurse is responsible for dispensing pharmaceuticals from the clinic dispensary and shooting routine clinical x-rays.

We offer our providers a competitive salary and benefits package including: health, dental, vision, life insurance, retirement, paid vacation and sick leave, paid holidays, additional insurance purchase options, and professional liability coverage under the Federal Tort Claim Act. In addition, our FQHC status offers loan repayment scholarship eligibility through the National Health Service Corps (NHSC). 

Responsibilities:

Provides direct patient care in clinical setting; be a member of the clinic team

Performs patient medical care as described by the nurse practices and by the guidelines of NVHC.  This may include:Diagnoses and treats a variety of diseases and injuries

Performs a variety of procedures in the clinic

Promotes health by educating the patient regarding diet, hygiene and prevention of disease

Performs surgical procedures commensurate with surgical competency

Provides emergency medical services

Reports births, deaths and outbreaks of contagious diseases to governmental authorities

Refers patients to consultant services as needed

Informs patient and patient family of risks associated with procedures and assures signatures are obtained in accordance with NVHC policy and procedures

Provides emotional support, compassion and is sympathetic to patient needs

Assist in triage for walk-ins, call-ins and urgent patients

Reviews charts on all "no shows" and cancelled appointments per NVHC policy and procedure

Qualifications:

Graduate of an accredited Advanced Practice Registered Nurse program; certified by the Nevada State Board of Nursing as an Advanced Practitioner of Nursing.  Must be licensed in the State of Nevada.
