Job Description:

The OCR Documenter is responsible for leading the documentation needed for Optical Character Recognition (OCR) modeling within the Abbyy Vantage platform. The Contingent Worker, OCR Documenter is the key owner for engaging with subject matter experts to identify documents containing information, create document workflows, standardize the data models, and prepare documents for model training. This role will also execute the validation testing to create Good Manufacturing Practices (GMP) solutions.

This role will focus on pulling data out of PDFs -  identifying key pieces of data to extract from documents and determine where it lives - while standardizing across all documents.  This is not a programming role.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES:  

Act as the representative for manufacturing in reviewing and marking up documents.

Support the design & develop automation solutions using OCR (Optical Character Recognition) technologies.

Responsible for the timely development of documents in accordance with Delivery Plans.

Perform various activities associated with the support of previously deployed OCR solutions.

Product Development: Collaborate with software development, product management, and operations teams to continue the expansion and feature development for our OCR product, ensuring it meets current and future market needs.

Customer Support: Provide support to customers and internal teams, addressing technical issues, and offering guidance on best practices for using existing OCR technology effectively.

Market Research: Stay up to date with industry trends, competitive landscape, and advancements in OCR technology to help guide product strategy and innovation.

Technical Documentation: Assist our technical writers with maintaining comprehensive documentation for our OCR product, including user guides, technical specifications, and training materials.

Product Testing: Actively participate with our QA team on the testing and quality assurance processes for our OCR product, ensuring they meet quality standards and deliver reliable performance.

Training and Support: Conduct training sessions and workshops for customers and internal teams to enhance their understanding and effective use of OCR solutions. 

REQUIREMENTS:

Experience with pharmaceutical batch records and certificates of analysis.

Preferably a STEM graduate, who aspires for the opportunity to build value adding automation solutions across a range of clients and industries.

Exposure to data manipulation and management techniques, in particular experience with SQL

Excellent communication skills including speaking, writing and presentation

Experience: 3+ years of experience working with OCR software technology or related fields. Previous experience in a software product specialist or technical support role is a plus.

Technical Skills: Strong understanding of OCR algorithms, image processing, and data extraction techniques. Familiarity with Xtracta, ABBYY or Azure AI Vision is a huge plus.

Communication: Exceptional verbal and written communication skills, with the ability to convey technical information to both technical and non-technical audiences.

Education: Bachelor’s degree or equivalent experience. Certification in OCR technology is a plus.

Pay Range:

$35-40/hr
