Job Description:
Responsible for building and maintaining our data lake, ingestion and consumption data pipelines / services and facilitating the movement of large data each day. Works directly with business teams and platform and engineering teams to ensure growth strategies at CoBank.
Essential Functions:
- Set the vision and strategy for data management and utilization.
- Oversee multiple Data Engineering teams.
- Drive innovation and adoption of new technologies in data engineering.
- Ensure data governance, compliance, and security standards are met.
Education:
Master's Degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or related field. required
Master's degree may be substituted with a Bachelor's degree and two years of related experience (two years is in addition to what is minimally required for the role) or, an equivalent combination of related experience and postgraduate education.
PhD in Computer Science, Information Technology, or related field. preferred
Work Experience:
10 years of relevant experience in data engineering or a related field, required
Prior Experience in leadership roles including experience managing direct reports, required
Expertise in data architecture and optimization, required
Leadership and strategic planning, required
In-depth knowledge of data engineering technologies and trends, required
Strong business acumen, required
Expertise in Cloud Data Engineering, required
In-depth knowledge of cloud concepts, especially AWS, required
Visionary leadership, required
Executive communication, required
Business acumen and strategic thinking, required
- Expertise with AWS development environment and services
- Experience building self-service tooling and platforms
- Built and designed Data Mesh architecture platforms
- A passion for building and running continuous integration pipelines
- Contributed to open-source projects (Ex: Operators in Airflow)

The typical base pay range for this role is between $169,462 - $235,637. Compensation may vary based on individual job-related knowledge, skills, expertise, and experience. This position is eligible for a discretionary annual incentive program driven by organization and individual performance.
