Job Description
Job Summary:
The Mohs Medical Assistant plays a vital role in providing high-quality care in a fast-paced dermatology practice specializing in Mohs micrographic surgery. This position requires a compassionate individual who is detail-oriented, organized, and capable of supporting both the clinical and administrative aspects of patient care.
Key Responsibilities:
Patient Care:
Assist with patient intake, including taking medical histories.
Prepare patients for procedures, explaining the process and addressing any concerns.
Maintain a sterile and organized surgical environment during Mohs procedures.
Provide emotional support and reassurance to patients before, during, and after procedures.
Clinical Duties:
Assist the surgeon during Mohs procedures, including specimen preparation and labeling.
Manage and maintain surgical instruments and equipment.
Perform basic wound care and dressing changes as directed.
Monitor patients during recovery and ensure post-operative instructions are clearly communicated.
Administrative Tasks:
Maintain accurate patient records and ensure compliance with HIPAA regulations.
Team Collaboration:
Work closely with dermatologists and other medical staff to ensure seamless patient care.
Participate in team meetings and contribute to continuous improvement initiatives.
