Responsibilities:

Join our Technology and Engineering Software Delivery Center and support exciting projects across Peraton in areas such as communications, space, cybersecurity, defense, health, and mobile.  You’ll have the opportunity to work in a collaborative, supportive environment that allows you to grow your skills and your career while building experience in a variety of different projects and domains. 

You’ll work in an Agile software development environment supporting requirements/story development, software architecture and design, software development, and unit/component testing.  The initial project assignment for this position is in the space domain supporting full-stack development in a cloud-native environment for a near-Earth space communications project.

Qualifications:

Required Qualifications:

0-4 years of experience with a BS/BA or higher in Computer Science, Computer Engineering, or related field. 

A demonstrated ability to pick up new programming languages and technologies quickly, with existing experience in Java, Python, and/or GoLang

Knowledge of coding languages and programming experience (HTML5, and JavaScript, JavaScript frameworks (React, Angular, Vue.js). Java, C++, C#), Scripting with python and Unix.

Understanding of the whole SDLC, Agile Methodology

Familiarity with Cloud Computing (IaC-terraform, AWS, Kubernetes, GitLab/GitHub) and Computer networks (TCP/UDP)  

Familiarity with software engineering principles, including design patterns, architectural concepts, and scalability (Microservices, 12 factor app, SOLID principles, CI/CD).

Strong analytical and problem-solving skills

Self-motivated, independent, detail oriented, responsible team-player

Strong written and oral communication skills

U.S. Citizenship and the ability to obtain and maintain a security clearance

Desired Qualifications:

Prior experience working in an Agile software development environment

Prior experience working with DevSecOps processes and tools

Experience with web development frameworks, database technologies, web services, and/or web application servers

Experience with Amazon Web Services development, including Lambda, Amplify, etc.

Experience with deploying software into cloud environments, particularly AWS, using technologies such as Ansible, Docker, and Rancher

Experience with Terraform and cloud automation tools

Ability to anticipate problems and take decisive action and an ability to find innovative ways to solve problems

Target Salary Range:

$66,000 - $106,000. This represents the typical salary range for this position based on experience and other factors.
