Overview:

The PowerOn Application Engineer will be an essential part of our team to grow the consulting practice in the Operational Technology and Real-Time Systems domain.
This role is required for the implementation of advanced SCADA and Power System applications. Application implementations include functional analysis (requirement traceability), documentation, configuration, test case drafting, testing, defect triaging and automation test (Katalon) support.
Responsibilities:
Performs applications configuration and tuning, performance, uptime, and health monitoring and security patching in support of Energy Management System (EMS) platform
Execute validation tests, results analysis, defect analysis and triage
Provides technical support and problem-solving capabilities
Triage, delegate and follow up through defect resolution
Work with Application Engineering team to push defect resolution
Collect system information for defects to provide to SME’s
Troubleshoot and debug Reliance system issues (be able to review logs, investigate, resolve issues)
Work with SME’s to determine root cause, resolve, install and retest
Provides documentation on test and user procedures
Analysis and update of functional and non-functional traceability matrix
Ensures quality assurance standards and procedures are followed
Implement technology solutions to optimize the effectiveness of the EMS platform, and help develop appropriate procedures for their implementation and operation
Perform necessary technical corrective actions to restore failed or failing technical services on EMS platform
Conduct code review, deployment, testing and monitoring of break/fix patches and modifications
Ensure that the systems database is adequately sized and configured to support all remote field devices utilizing various protocols and calculated values
Provide auditable documentation recording the changes on the Energy Management System platform delivered as part of support services
Deliver weekly report detailing Energy Management System support deliverables completed during the reporting week
Qualifications:
5+ years of work experience in Power system applications – Power Flow, State Estimator, Contingency Analysis, Load Frequency Control, Dynamic Stability Analysis, Load Forecasting, Operator Training Simulator (OTS)
Highly preferred work experience in GE PowerOn Reliance with background in power system applications & concepts
Experience working in Linux/ Windows Operating systems & working experience with Relational Databases (Oracle, SQL DB) is preferred
Bachelor's Degree: Electrical Engineering, Computer Engineering, Computer Science, or related field (Required) or a combination of education and experience that provides equivalent knowledge to a major in such fields
