How you make a difference:

The Psychiatric Safety Officer is responsible for the safety and security within and around the facility and property.

Key Responsibilities:

Ensure compliance with relevant healthcare regulations and standards such as NCCHC, DHEC, TJC, HACCP, and local health department policies and procedures related to food service.

Maintain security and vigilance at assigned post, intervening in disruptive or violent behaviors and preventing escapes.

Monitor and control communication systems, surveillance systems, and emergency signal systems to ensure facility safety, including fire alarm systems, CCTV, computer terminals, perimeter-alert systems, PA systems, and two-way radios.

Observe and monitor patients both inside and outside the facility for hostile or unsafe behaviors, implementing necessary safety precautions.

Conduct searches, inspections, and return patients in case of escapes, control and monitor individuals entering and leaving the facility, and maintain traffic control and surveillance in parking areas.

Qualifications & Requirements:

Education

Be at least 18 years of age.

High school graduate or its “equivalent”.

Experience

Not have been convicted of any felony or of a  misdemeanor  involving  perjury or  a false statement

Able to pass a physical examination by a licensed physician based on specifications established by the Company.

Will successfully complete the facility 80-hour Safety Officer recruit-training course.

Must maintain a valid driver’s license.

Able to pass Background Check and Drug Screen

Licenses/Certifications

Certified Dietary Manager registration is required within six (6) months of employment.
