Triumph Construction is seeking a highly qualified Quality Coordinator with extensive experience in civil construction projects and familiarity with standards set by the United States Army Corps of Engineers (USACE) or similar military/government entities. The Quality Coordinator will work under the supervision of the Quality Manager to ensure that all construction activities meet the project’s quality requirements, focusing on compliance, safety, and performance. This role is based on-site in Staten Island, NY and requires leadership, attention to detail, and experience in large-scale civil construction projects.

Requirements

Assist the Quality Manager in developing and implementing a comprehensive Quality Control Plan (QCP) aligned with USACE and project standards.

Oversee daily quality control processes, including inspections, testing, and documentation, ensuring compliance with project specifications and regulatory requirements.

Collaborate with the Quality Manager, project management, site supervisors, and subcontractors to maintain high standards of quality control throughout the project lifecycle.

Conduct regular audits and inspections of worksite activities, materials, and construction methods to ensure compliance with USACE standards, local regulations, and project specifications.

Work with the USACE or other government agencies on quality control inspections, audits, and reporting.

Support the Quality Manager in documenting and tracking non-conformance reports (NCRs), corrective actions, and preventive actions to continuously improve construction quality.

Provide training and guidance to site personnel on quality standards, procedures, and corrective action processes as directed by the Quality Manager.

Maintain thorough and accurate records of quality control activities, ensuring compliance with project and regulatory reporting requirements.

Liaise with external stakeholders, including government agencies, clients, and third-party inspectors, to resolve quality-related issues, under the direction of the Quality Manager.

Ensure compliance with environmental, health, and safety (EHS) standards on site.

Qualifications:

Bachelor’s degree in Civil Engineering, Construction Management, or a related field.

Minimum of 5 years of experience in civil construction quality control, with proven experience working on projects governed by USACE or similar military/government agencies.

Familiarity with USACE Three-Phase Quality Control System (Preparatory, Initial, Follow-Up) and government contracting procedures.

Strong knowledge of construction standards, codes, and regulations, including federal and state requirements for military or government projects.

Excellent understanding of construction materials testing, inspection techniques, and quality control documentation.

Ability to work effectively with project teams, contractors, and government entities, maintaining open communication to ensure project success.

Experience in managing quality control for large-scale infrastructure or civil works projects.

Proficient in using quality control management software and construction project management tools.

Strong organizational, problem-solving, and analytical skills, with keen attention to detail.

Relevant certifications in quality management (e.g., CQE, CQA, ISO auditor, or similar) are a plus.

Preferred Skills:

Familiarity with the USACE RMS system or similar military/government quality management systems.

Experience working in environments that require adherence to federal contracting guidelines.

Prior experience on construction projects involving the Department of Defense (DoD) or other governmental entities.
