The Opportunity

We are seeking a dynamic tax manager and leader to join our team, someone who is not only proficient in managing tax operations but also passionate about mentoring and guiding others. This critical role involves overseeing the planning, scheduling, preparation, research, and review of federal, state, and local tax returns for both individuals and businesses.

Job Duties

Guide and manage team members to ensure timely and precise completion of assigned tasks.

Maintain proactive and clear communication with both your team and clients to manage expectations, deadlines, and deliverables effectively.

Advanced technical proficiency in taxation, overseeing the preparation of complex tax returns including individuals, C-Corps, S-Corps, partnerships, trusts, and estates across various industries.

Establish and maintain strong relationships with clients, expertly resolve and communicate tax-related questions and issues.

Review associates' work, offering constructive feedback, guidance, and training to ensure quality and accuracy.

Conduct in-depth tax research on complex issues and handle correspondence and audits from the IRS and other governmental agencies.

Provide valuable guidance and mentorship to staff, assisting them in developing their technical skills. Train new employees on firm technologies, processes, and procedures.

Maintain a program for ongoing tax updates and education for the tax group. Innovate and present ideas for process improvements to achieve firm and departmental goals.

Requirements

The Qualifications

8+ years of prior experience with US income tax preparation and planning,

In-depth knowledge of US tax laws and regulations

Accuracy, attention to detail, and the ability to articulate complex information in writing and verbally.

Must be a self-starting individual who takes responsibility for his/her work and actively sees projects through to successful conclusions while maintaining a high level of communication with team members

Desire/ability to work successfully in a small company team environment where it is expected that you will wear many hats with varied responsibilities

Proficiency in Microsoft 365 Suite (Excel, Word, PowerPoint, Outlook) and ability to operate CRM (Salesforce) and other systems, such as tax preparation software

Bachelor’s degree (or equivalent) in accounting, finance, or related field

US CPA or equivalent required
