Job Description

This is an on-call position.  The EMT will be required to respond to Disasters in support of the State and Federal government's responses.  This position may require deployments of 14 days to 120 days in length to areas affected by large disasters.  Locations are anywhere in the United States and its territories. 

The EMT will assist nurses and paramedics with assessing, planning, implementing, and evaluating direct and indirect clinical care to patients.  She/ he will competently function as a member of the interdisciplinary team to provide patient and community-centered care.  She/he serves as an advocate for the patient and their family and intercedes on their behalf by acting as a liaison for patients and their families concerning their rights and beliefs. The EMT will utilize their expertise in evidence-based medical practice to manage unexpected and emergent situations, to mitigate and treat a variety of injuries and illnesses promptly and professionally.
