Job Title: Clinical Dietitian

Location: Coos Bay, OR

Shift Type: Days

Hours: 10 hours/day, 80 hours per pay period (4, 10-hour shifts)

Hourly Range: $29.00 - $39.00/hour

Job Overview:

The Clinical Dietitian is responsible for providing clinical nutrition support, care, and information to patients and staff in the healthcare setting. This role involves assessing the dietary needs of patients, developing and implementing nutrition plans, and educating patients and staff on proper nutritional practices.

Key Responsibilities:

Provide clinical nutrition care to patients by assessing their dietary needs and developing individualized care plans.

Offer nutrition education and counseling to patients, families, and staff as needed.

Maintain accurate documentation of patient care and treatment plans.

Monitor and evaluate patient progress and adjust nutrition plans as necessary.

Collaborate with other healthcare professionals to ensure comprehensive care for patients.

Participate in interdisciplinary team meetings to discuss patient care and progress.

Educate staff on proper nutrition practices and the importance of maintaining healthy eating habits for patients.

Assist with the development and implementation of nutrition-related policies and programs.

Skills and Abilities:

Proficient with calculator, computer, PowerPoint, telephone, copy machine, and fax machine.

Excellent verbal and written communication skills.

Ability to converse, read, and write fluently in English.

Strong physical agility to respond to patient care needs quickly and appropriately.

Ability to lift up to 50 pounds and assist patients with ambulation, transfers, and other mobility needs.

Ability to maintain confidentiality and demonstrate professional behavior at all times.

Physical/Mental/Environmental Requirements:

Ability to stand, walk, bend, squat, reach, and stretch frequently.

Adequate hearing and visual acuity, including color vision, required.

Strong fine motor skills and eye-hand coordination.

Required to use standard precautions due to exposure to blood and bodily fluids.

Education/Certifications/Licenses:

Bachelors degree in Food & Nutrition or Dietetics from an accredited college or university Required.

Completion of an approved coordinated undergraduate program, dietetic internship, or masters program with qualifying work experience Required.

Registered Dietitian or eligibility for registration (must obtain within 1 year) Required.

Licensed as a Dietitian in the state of Oregon Required.

Valid drivers license or ability to obtain one within 30 days Required.

Must obtain Oregon Food Handler, Food Manager Certification, or ServSafe Certification within 30 days of hire Required.

Member of the Academy of Nutrition and Dietetics Preferred.

Certified Diabetic Educator, Certified Oncology Nutrition Specialist, Certified Nutrition Support Specialist Required.

Experience:

One (1) year of experience in clinical or community nutrition Preferred.
