Serco supports the Texas Department of Transportation (TxDOT) by operating the free HERO patrol service program with the purpose of minimizing traffic congestion and improving highway safety by clearing damaged and disabled vehicles and debris from the travel and emergency lanes, and providing traffic control and scene protection at incidents. 

The training manager is responsible for development and implementation of the approved training program for the TxDOT Highway Emergency Response Operator (HERO) program in El Paso, Texas

As a Training Manager, you can expect to:

Oversees training program of HERO Operators

Responsible for the development and maintenance of the HERO patrol operations procedures, training manuals, and contact lists

Responsible for supporting the development and conducting of HERO training including software, communication and operational training

Responsible for developing and conducting Incident Management training

Assist Program Manager in oversight of HERO Patrol Operator activities

Develop and administer the HERO Safety program

Qualifications:

To be successful in this role, you will have:

Have at least two years of experience as a SSP Shift Supervisor, Law Enforcement officer, or similar Traffic Incident Management role.

Successfully complete all HERO Operator training requirements and be certified as a HERO Operator.

Possess excellent oral and written communication skills to facilitate communication with partner agencies for HERO and TIM-related training and education

This position is contingent upon your ability to pass a preemployment criminal history check and drug screen.

Preferred Skills and Experience:

2+ years of experience within the last five years with overall training responsibility for a HERO of similar Traffic Incident Management program.

Prior Law Enforcement, Fire Department and/or Department of Transportation experience in managing traffic incidents
