Overview:

The Director of Data Integration is an exempt position that supports Vital Incite’s mission by leading the Integration team, ensuring that Vital Incite’s data integration operations continue to meet our high standards of best-in-class quality and timeliness.  The Director of Data Integration will report to the VP of Operations and use her/his health-related data familiarity and integrations experience, medical (and Rx) claims/coding knowledge, data manipulation skills, and management experience to assure complete and accurate integration of health plan data in a manner that permits the Strategy team to accurately and timely provide reporting.

Responsibilities:

Essential Responsibilities:

Oversee and manage the new integrations of health information. This includes managing the Data Team that is:

Determining of whether the new data is coming in an established format or new format;

Negotiating with data sources to obtain the necessary information needed for reporting

Mapping of new data formats

Performing file analytics to identify the absence of critical fields (resulting from intentional masking or limitations in extract information)

Performing Control comparisons

This includes directly serving as the management-level liaison with technology, strategy teams, and data sources as needed, acting as top-tier support for complex integrations involving new file types, building strong relationships and advocating for clients to secure the most complete data sets, while directly addressing highly complex data issues using advanced data manipulation skills.

Oversee and manages the Data Team in its administration of ongoing data feeds and resulting data issues, including:

Ongoing monitoring of the resolution of data issues, and providing guidance for those that are highly complex (using medical and Rx claims knowledge, data manipulation skills and acquired understanding of how the data is integrated and used for reporting purposes)

Addressing global improvement of integration processes and data integrity/completeness (internal and with data sources)

Lead communicator between Data Integration Team and Strategy Team, overseeing process for communicating progress and status of integrations and data issues internally and externally including tag up calls, structure of internal ticketing and tracking system etc.

Oversees the team that gathers health data in non-extract formats (i.e., physical compliance, clinic invoicing, controls, etc). Assures that all data is timely sought/obtained and accurately entered. Works to improve processes and extract efficiencies

Services as SME for claims coding and claims file analytics

Other duties as assigned.

Position Scope:

This supervisory role at Vital Incite is responsible for directly managing the Data Integration team, handling highly confidential information to protect both client privacy and Vital Incite’s intellectual property. The position requires strong problem-solving skills, the ability to prioritize tasks, disciplined time management, and sound judgment in decision-making, ensuring appropriate involvement in the process and timely execution. The individual will interact with staff at all levels, including senior management, and must communicate effectively with both internal employees and external vendors while managing competing demands and working under general supervision.

Qualifications:

Education:

Bachelor of Science degree in Economics, Mathematics, Statistics, Finance, Computer Science or Healthcare related field or equivalent experience

Experience:

Experienced in managing high-performing teams focused on business-critical processes.

Skilled in developing relationships and negotiating with external contacts for optimal results.

Highly organized with a strong ability to follow up with unresponsive contacts.

In-depth knowledge of healthcare claims data, data integration, and PHI protections, with a basic understanding of SQL and data querying concepts.

Strong proficiency in Microsoft Excel.

Skills:

Strong data analysis and manipulation skills (Excel, SQL, etc.) with expertise in medical claims and coding.

Exceptional analytical, problem-solving, and organizational skills, capable of managing multiple competing timelines and ensuring follow-up.

Excellent communication skills, both written and oral, with the ability to work independently or as part of a team.

Energetic, flexible, collaborative, and proactive, demonstrating a commitment to outstanding customer service.
