Responsibilities:

Our IT Security department is looking for an Intern for the 2025 Spring and Summer semesters.  This is not a remote position and will be onsite at one of our New York locations in Syracuse, Rochester, or Canton. Interns will be expected to work 40 hours per week, Monday through Friday.

Responsible for assisting all Information Security team members in a variety of security initiatives at a mid-sized banking institution.

1. Assist with daily security log/alert review including follow up and investigation when appropriate.

2. Monitor and analyze the internal phishing mailbox. Elevate when assistance is necessary.

3. Perform testing / document new security initiatives.

4. Assist with the user access provisioning and de-provisioning process.

5. Assist and/or complete risk assessments tied to vendor management and new technologies.

6. Other duties as assigned.

Ancillary Duties:

Performs any job related tasks as assigned by any member of the Information Security department with oversight from the Director of Information Security.

Qualifications:

Education/Training: In process of earning an Associate’s, Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Information Security, Cybersecurity or Information Technology. All applicants must be 18 years of age or older.

Skills: Strong communication skills with a working knowledge of basic Information Security and IT terms and processes; analytical mindset to problem solve; ability to work independently as well as in a team and remain on task. Must have valid driver’s license.

Experience: None required but some previous Information Security and/or IT experience would be preferred.

Min:

USD $15.50/Hr.

Max:

USD $19.67/Hr.

Other Job Information:

Hours: 40 hours per week, Monday through Friday. 

Compensation: Commensurate with experience plus potential for annual merit increase.
