The position:  The Accounts Receivable Associate position is based in our Savannah Division office. This is an onsite position with no remote work option. This position will perform routine accounting activities primarily in the area of accounts receivable, accurately and timely record customer payments, input invoice information according to company practices, perform monthly close processes, maintain general ledger, research and reconcile account issues/discrepancies. Additionally, this role provides support to the Accounts Receivable Supervisor, Credit Analyst team, branches/service centers and Corporate Headquarters. 

Responsibilities:

WHAT YOU’LL DO 

Daily balancing: Reconcile batch totals ensuring A/R sub-ledger agrees with general ledger controls. Research & resolve out of balance conditions. 

Recording Payments: Lockbox deposits, credit card payments, branch deposits, wire/ach payments, 

processing Remote Deposit Capture. 

Recording Invoice Transactions: Branch used trailer invoices, NAB invoices, miscellaneous invoices. 

Generating Reports: Creating A/R aging reports, customer statements, miscellaneous reports. 

Process Refunds: Research unapplied credits and confirm the validity for issuance of refund checks. 

Assisting Credit Analyst Team and branches with general requests and inquiries and investigating and 

resolving any irregularities. 

Maintains accounts receivables files and retrieves material as needed. 

Supports/assists other accounting and finance team members as necessary. 

Other duties as necessary or assigned by the Accounts Receivable Supervisor. 

Qualifications:

YOUR SKILLS AND ABILITIES (REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS) 

Education: Associate’s Degree in Business/Accounting; Bachelor’s Degree equivalent or equivalent preferred 

Experience: 

Solid understanding of GAAP.

General business knowledge.

Working knowledge of Microsoft Office applications with proficiency in Excel.

Familiarity with accounting software; Oracle JD Edwards a plus.

Skills:

Effective verbal and written communication skills.

Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.

Ability to adapt to new/changing technologies.

Ability to work and make decisions independently.
