Overview:

The Molding Specialist contributes to the success of the Molding operation by ensuring continuity of safe and high-quality production, and by regularly providing production and quality information to Management and the production floor.

Responsibilities:

Essential Functions (To perform within this position successfully, the incumbent must be able to perform each essential duty satisfactorily. Other duties may be assigned.)

Accurately and completely prepare all daily production-related documents in a timely manner

Prepare quality alerts and all quality-related documentation in a timely manner

Monitor and update all work instructions for molding operations

Create and submit weekly and monthly utilization and scrap reports

Transfer information daily to the following shift concerning all quality issues, changes in processes, or other quality or production concerns

Keep accurate inventory of all molding supplies required; place orders in a timely manner

Monitor and stay within budget, reporting any budget concerns to HOD in a timely manner

Actively participate in all safety, quality, and production-related meetings, as well as promote safety throughout the department

Observe all safety rules and policies at all times, including properly wearing Personal Protective Equipment (PPE)

Ensure compliance with policies and report all recognized safety hazards

Perform all other duties as assigned

Qualifications:

Basic Qualifications (The qualifications listed below are representative of the knowledge, skills, and/or abilities desired for this position.)

Education & Experience:

Associates Degree plus two (2) years of experience in automotive manufacturing

OR High School Diploma/GED plus four (4) years of experience in automotive manufacturing

Knowledge, Skills, & Abilities:

Written and verbal communication skills

Ability to multi-task

Strong problem-solving and analytical skills

Proficiency in Microsoft Excel and PowerPoint

Ability to work effectively with minimal supervision

Self-motivated

Preferred Education & Experience:

Bachelor’s Degree, Engineering, Business Administration or related technical field

Certificate in Automotive Technology

Experience with plastic injection molding

SAP Experience

Experience with 3R5S concepts

Certificates, Licenses, and Registrations: None Required

Working Conditions

30% in an office environment, 70% on the production floor

Traversing around production floor in appropriate PPE

Lifting up to 20 lbs.

Possible travel to Mobis headquarters in Korea

Overtime as required
