Our Director of Construction Downsize and Remodels will work closely with the Real Estate and Legal teams to provide strategic and tactical support to the program and will work closely with the VP of Facilities and senior leadership team to drive the overall strategy of the program to effectively support the Company’s rollout plan of 20-30 + projects annually.   Additionally, this Director will lead, coach and mentor the team and will provide clear and actionable objectives and develop teams to be independent while providing opportunities for growth. 

A Day in the Life

Develop and communicate plans and expectations for the team while driving operational efficiencies and excellence across the organization

Develop the Project Management team, concentrating on improved focused, solution-oriented communication, between business partners, vendors, and contractors

Oversees the direction and completion of the master CPM construction timeline displaying the complete Project Life Cycle to aid all business partners in overall planning.

Develops team to effectively communicate with Landlord's construction and Real Estate representatives to negotiate scope of work and all aspects of the deal to achieve the best occupancy for the Company. Leads by example and is continuously coaching team to improve.

Coordinates with Burlington vendors, AP, IT, SP business partners to ensure their scope and budgets are provided timely and that they understand the overall project schedule.

Evaluates risk assessment for the overall project timelines and milestones.

Oversees the development of project timelines from lease execution through design phase, interim store phase and final construction build out and turnover to Operations.

Develops and presents preliminary phasing plans and conduct meetings with Ops SVP, Store Planning and Landlord teams for review, comment and providing updates.

Participate in all pre bid meetings with GC's, Architect and PM to establish project timing, scope of work and alternates pricing. Present final project costs to VPFAC and Finance obtaining approval to award the project.

You’ll Come With

Bachelor’s degree or equivalent work experience

7+ years of experience leading and managing downsize and remodel projects

Experience in successfully managing complex organizational initiatives involving multiple functions and multiple business areas. Includes the identification and articulation of problems, influencing decision-making process as well as delivery of expected results

Experience in leading multidiscipline, high-performance work teams/groups; ability to lead projects and project team members to successful goal achievement

Ability to travel to visit work sites, meet vendors and team meetings as needed.
